Government inaugurates 6 new districts, assemblies tomorrow

Minister of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has disclosed that government will officially inaugurate simultaneously six newly created assemblies, districts and their capitals tomorrow February 19, 2019.

The inauguration according to the Minister will help “deepen decentralisation and development in these newly created districts.”

The Korle Klottey assembly with Osu as its capital, Ablekuma Central assembly having Lartebiokorshie as its capital and Ayawaso Central assembly with Kokomlemle as its capital are among the newly created assemblies.

Others are Akyease Assembly with Akyease as its capital, Anloga District with Anloga as its capital and the North East Gonja Assembly with Kpalebe as its capital.

The Minister who made this known at a press briefing at Koforidua in the Eastern Region said the inaugural ceremony will be done on behalf of President Nana Akufo-Addo by some selected Ministers of State.
