Special Advisor on the 24-Hour Economy Initiative, Goosie Tanoh, has described the policy as a dynamic, science-led, and socially grounded programme built to evolve with Ghana’s changing economic landscape.
Speaking at the official launch on Wednesday, July 2, Tanoh called the initiative a “living programme”, one that thrives on feedback, flexibility, and continuous improvement.
“We see the 24-Hour Programme as a living programme, rooted in science and firm social democratic principles, but flexible enough to respond tactically to a changing environment,” he said.
Tanoh emphasized that constructive criticism is welcome, as it will help refine the initiative. He stressed the importance of learning, adaptation, and stakeholder engagement in ensuring long-term success.
“We will learn many lessons and make numerous adjustments. This is the only way a programme can truly transform our society in the short, medium, and long term.”
He commended President John Dramani Mahama for his leadership, calling him a “true champion of responsible entrepreneurship and national transformation.”
Ending on a note of optimism, Tanoh urged Ghanaians to believe in the country’s potential to make the initiative a success:
“We, as a country, we, as a people, have what it takes to succeed.”
The 24-Hour Economy, a flagship policy of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), aims to boost productivity, create jobs, and build a competitive, resilient economy through sustained economic activity across all sectors.
