The Global Old Students Association has donated 150 mono desks, valued at GH¢60,000, to Anlo Senior High School (SHS) in a bid to support quality education and improve the school’s learning environment.
The donation forms part of the association’s ongoing interventions to help address infrastructural and logistical challenges confronting schools under Ghana’s Free Senior High School (Free SHS) programme, particularly the pressure on classroom furniture resulting from increased enrolment.
The desks were officially received by the Headmaster of Anlo SHS, Mr Newman Dzieadzorve, who expressed gratitude to the association for the timely support, noting that the donation would have a positive impact on teaching and learning in the school.
As part of the visit, issues of student welfare and sanitation were also highlighted. Members of the association inspected a proposed site for the construction of a bathroom facility for female students an initiative being spearheaded by the 2011 Year Group. The project is aimed at improving hygiene, privacy and dignity for female students, while contributing to a healthier school environment.
The donation and related initiatives underscore the strong bond between Anlo SHS and its alumni, demonstrating how collective responsibility and a shared vision can drive meaningful development in education.
The Global Old Students Association reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the growth of the school and ensuring that students have access to a safe, supportive and enabling learning space.
