GIMPA takes stray bullet as Amos fires Trobu MP over “Vote for Widow” message

The Greater Accra Regional Youth Organizer of the ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), Amos Blessing Amorse has called out the Member of Parliament for Trobu Constituency, Gloria Owusu over her unintelligent comments in the just ended Ablekuma North election re-run.

In a viral video, the Trobu MP was heard urging voters to cast their ballots in favour of opposition NPP’s candidate, Akua Afriyie because she is a widow. She continued by accusing the ruling NDC of despite having 187 seats in Parliament still wants to twist the arms of the widow and take away her seat.

This comment did not go down well wish the vociferous youth leader who took his facebook page to register his displeasure over the MP’s comment whiles cautioning the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) to be mindful of the kind of students they should consider admitting in their university.

“We know how some universities, because of money, have taken advantage of the matured entrance thing to admit ‘not fit for purpose’ students. This has caused cancerous injury to intellectualism in this country. It should not always be about money. The Universities must be interested in the level of reasoning of the students they admit.” – He said

He emphasized that “Universities should not be reduced to thrash cans of ‘unchargeable’ brains. One of such is the lady [Trobu MP] in the video. I’m told she is on a mission to try the matured entrance route again to gain admission to your reputable institution.”

“For some time now, some personalities GIMPA is churning out as graduates is lowering it’s standards we have known it for.” – Amos write to GIMPA

Read his full letter:

Dear GIMPA,
The woman in the video is one of your potential students. She attempted to gain admission at the last admission window through the matured entrance route but failed because she could not sit some of the 5 papers required.

We know how some universities, because of money, have taken advantage of the matured entrance thing to admit ‘not fit for purpose’ students. This has caused cancerous injury to intellectualism in this country. It should not always be about money. The Universities must be interested in the level of reasoning of the students they admit.

The Universities should not be reduced to thrash cans of ‘unchargeable’ brains. One of such is the lady in the video. I’m told she is on a mission to try the matured entrance route again to gain admission to your reputable institution.

For some time now, some personalities GIMPA is churning out as graduates is lowering it’s standards we have known it for.

Passing that so-called exams through whatever means is nit enough. Go beyond it to ensure that you admit students who have their heads properly screwed to their necks or students who did not receive some dirty knocks on their heads when they were born.
Thank you
