Ghanaian youth shines at the United Nations with powerful message

A young Ghanaian advocate, Bright Ofori, is steadily making waves on the global stage through his leadership and advocacy for integrity.

As a member of the UNODC YouthLED Integrity Advisory Board, Bright on 30th October 2025, upon the invitation of the United Nations represented Ghana at the United Nations Office in Vienna, where he delivered an inspiring presentation on his work in advancing anti-corruption efforts across Ghana, Africa, and the world through his civil society organization, The Bright Future Alliance (TBFA).

The gathering, an intergenerational dialogue and youth perspectives session organized by the United Nations and the Rule of Law and Anti-Corruption Center (ROLACC) of the State of Qatar, brought together previous winners of the Emir of Qatar’s Anti-Corruption Excellence (ACE) Award. The distinguished gathering included experts and champions from academia, sports, and youth engagement sectors, all united by a shared commitment to promoting transparency and ethical leadership.

In his presentation, Bright highlighted the progress, challenges, and lessons learned from his anti-corruption journey, emphasizing the need for continued collaboration between youth, governments, and international institutions to strengthen accountability systems. His message resonated deeply with participants, earning praise for its passion and authenticity.

At the close of the dialogue, Bright joined other global leaders to contribute to the design of a mentorship programme to be implemented by UNODC and Qatar’s ROLACC, aimed at equipping young people worldwide with the tools and guidance to lead with integrity.

While in Austria, Bright was hosted by Ghana’s Ambassador to Austria and Permanent Representative to the United Nations in Vienna, H.E. Matilda Aku Alomatu Osei-Agyeman, for an insightful discussion. They exchanged views on Ghana’s growing role on the global stage and ongoing efforts to promote integrity, good governance, and youth empowerment. Bright also updated the Ambassador on his international engagements and his role on the UNODC YouthLED Integrity Advisory Board.

Expressing his gratitude, Bright noted, “I am deeply grateful to Her Excellency for her valuable advice and guidance. Her encouragement strengthens my resolve to continue representing Ghana with integrity and excellence, and someday rise to the height of global governance.”

With a clear vision for the future, Bright Ofori aspires to represent Ghana in an official capacity on the global stage and make a lasting impact on the world through leadership, and service. His activite inclusion in high-level UN dialogue is yet another testament to his commitment to building a transparent and accountable world —one that empowers people to lead with purpose and honesty.
