A Ghanaian, Isaac Aboagye-Mensah, who was residing in Russia, has been reported dead.
The young man, according to multiple sources, died on the frontlines while fighting Ukrainian forces in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war.
Mr. Aboagye-Mensah joined the Russian army a few months ago to assist in its war efforts, just as many other Africans who felt the need to side with Russia in the conflict.
“Isaac Aboagye-Mensah, where are you going? Why so soon? I never knew you had joined these Russians. So sad hearing about your departure this morning. Our last conversation was in February. Walk well, bro,” a close friend of the deceased and presidential staffer, P.K. Sarpong, wrote on social media.
Meanwhile, details about the cause of death and the timing of the incident are not readily available at the time of filing this report.
Before his departure to Russia, Mr. Aboagye-Mensah worked as a banker.
