The Public Utility Workers’ Union of Ghana of Trades Union Congress (TUC) has warned of the imminent collapse of the Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL) as a result of the agreement the company singed with Messrs Befessa in December 2002.

According the group,  the agreement between the two parties was to build a desalination plant at Teshie to produce portable water from sea water for sale to GWCL for distribution to the residents of Teshie-Nungua. However, the group are not happy with some contractual agreement  and are therefore calling on the government to intervene to avert a possible collapse of the GWCL
