Wales will face Ghana for the first time ever in a senior men’s international fixture at the Cardiff City Stadium on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 (KO time TBC).
The match will mark the first time an African nation has played in Wales, where Craig Bellamy’s side will face a star-studded Ghana team featuring Jordan Ayew, Antoine Semenyo, Inaki Williams, and Mohammed Kudus.
The Black Stars have already confirmed their place in this summer’s FIFA World Cup, where they will face England, Croatia, and Panama in the group stage.
Wales’s last and only match against an African nation in the men’s game was in June 1998 in Tunis, which featured current Head Coach Craig Bellamy.
Their participation in this summer’s FIFA World Cup in North America will depend on the outcome of the playoff pathway in March. Craig Bellamy’s side faces Bosnia & Herzegovina on Thursday, March 26, and should they progress, they will then face Italy or Northern Ireland in a playoff final on Tuesday, March 31, 2026.
Ghana has already confirmed friendlies against Austria, Germany, and Mexico, and this would give Coach Otto Addo another test in preparing his team for the World Cup in Canada, Mexico, and the United States of America.
Ticket information for the fixture will be announced in due course.
