Ghana has successfully evacuated all its embassy staff from the Islamic Republic of Iran, following rising tensions in the region.
Mr. Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, Minister for Foreign Affairs, announced on Monday that the evacuation had been completed successfully and that all Ghanaian diplomats were safe and in high spirits.
He further disclosed that Ghana’s Embassy in Tehran had been closed since die, meaning indefinitely, as authorities continue to monitor developments.
Mr. Ablakwa emphasised that the safety, welfare and protection of Ghanaians remain the Government’s utmost priority in the current circumstances.
The evacuation forms part of precautionary measures to safeguard Ghanaian officials amid the prevailing security situation in the region.
