Mustapha Gbande, Deputy General Secretary, NDC
A light-hearted social media post has sparked conversations within the National Democratic Congress (NDC) circles after an NDC activist publicly disclosed that he had been blocked by Mr. Mustapha Gbande, the NDC’s Deputy General Secretary and Deputy Director of Operations at the Presidency.
In a post that has since generated dozens of reactions and comments, the activist, known on Facebook as Efo Kormi, wrote: “I told Foyo Gbande, you talk too much! I chop block.” The playful jab, accompanied by laughing emojis, suggested that his comment to Mustapha Gbande, popularly known as Foyo, may not have been well received.
Although the activist’s tone appeared humorous, the post has triggered mixed reactions among party supporters online. Some interpreted it as friendly banter, while others suggested it reflects internal tensions and the heightened sensitivity surrounding political communication within the governing party.
Mustapha Gbande, who serves as both Deputy General Secretary of the NDC and Deputy Director of Operations at the Presidency, is known for his strong public commentary and assertive political communication style. His social-media engagements often attract wide attention, especially within the party grassroots.
Efo Kormi, on the other hand, is widely recognized on Facebook as an outspoken NDC social media activist who frequently shares political opinions and commentary on national and party affairs.
The playful “block saga” has since become a talking point among some NDC supporters, with many debating whether the exchange was simply banter or a reflection of the intense atmosphere within the party as internal discussions heat up.
As at the time of this report, Mustapha Gbande has not publicly responded to the viral post.
