[dropcap]A[/dropcap] group of fans of celebrated award-winning actor, Friends of John Dumelo has announced they will on August 19, 2017 launch a nationwide project dubbed “John Dumelo Clean Ghana Campaign” at Hohoe and Likpe in the Volta Region of Ghana.
[ads1]The campaign which will commerce in the two selected towns, Hohoe and Likpe the hometown of the celebrated actor will be replicated in other parts of the country.
This was disclosed to Awake News’ Korsi Senyo in an interview with the National Coordinator of Friends of John Dumelo, Mr. Bernard Potakey.
According to Mr. Potakey, the John Dumelo Clean Ghana Campaign which is on the theme “Get Ghana Out of Filth; A Responsibility of All” seeks to mobilize supporters of the actor across the country to get involved in nation building through cleaning the streets and other public places of importance.
The maiden edition which is scheduled for August 19, 2017 and the launch of the project, Mr. Potakey revealed that the exercise will be taking place at the Likpe Clinic and the Hohoe Government Hospital between the hours of 7 and 12 at that same Saturday.
“We are expecting hundreds of supporters of our man [John Dumelo] to pour at the Hohoe Government Hospital and Lipke Clinic on Saturday morning where we will be doing some clean-up exercises, painting and also make some donations to the children’s ward of the Hohoe Hospital” – Mr. Potakey outlines their activities.
“We will be having two teams that will be working concurrently. One at Hohoe and other at Likpe with a central coordinating team” – Mr. Potakey explains their itinerary
Responding to the question whether the event is being sponsored by the actor, this is what Mr. Potakey has to say:
“We, the fans are doing this for the love we have for him. We just put ourselves together and also spoke to some few corporate bodies that shared in this vision and willing to support this cause”
