Eintracht Frankfurt president Peter Fischer has criticized the excessive amount of football broadcasts offered on television.

“Football is on around the clock. It’s an absolute overconsumption and it’s not doing us any good as a sport,” he said at the 2022 German sports awards gala on Sunday evening.
Other sports, meanwhile, are hardly or not at all present in the media. “I would certainly distribute it differently if I could,” Fischer said. But he sees little chance of change in what broadcasters are offering.
Frankfurt were awarded team of the year during the gala after their Europa League title.
