Former parliamentary aspirant donates motorbikes to Volta Region NDC

Businessman and former parliamentary aspirant in Ketu North, Gabriel Kwamigah-Atokple Tanko, has donated motorbikes to the NDC Volta Regional secretariat. The donation was made on Tuesday, May 7, and includes 20 bikes to be distributed to each constituency in the Volta Region.

According to Tanko as he’s popularly called, he donated to all constituencies in the region to help alleviate mobility challenges they face. Also, it is to aid the transportation of potential voters to the centres where the Electoral Commission is undertaking the limited voter registration exercise.

“As a committed supporter of our cause, I am delighted to make a donation of some brand new motorcycles to all eighteen (18) constituencies through the Volta Regional Secretariat.

“These motorcycles are not merely vehicles; they represent efficiency, connectivity, and determination. With this contribution, each of our eighteen constituencies gains a vital tool to navigate challenges and deliver our message of hope effectively to every corner of our region, beginning today, the start of the limited registration exercise,” Mr. Atokple said in a press statement.

Volta Regional NDC Chairman, Hon. Mawutor Agbavitor (L), Mr. Kwamigah Atokple (C) and Prof. Joshua Alabi (R) at the donation event in Ho, on Tuesday, May 7

He continued that in the face of the difficult economic situations in the country, “our unity and determination are more important than ever. Let these motorcycles symbolize our commitment to serve our communities, engage voters, and ensure that every voice is heard.”

The politician, who contested the Ketu North NDC primaries in 2019 and 2023, and lost to Hon. James Klutse Avedzi and Edem Agbana respectively, called on Comrades in the constituency to come together to work towards victory in both presidential and parliamentary elections.

“Together, let us harness this momentum to drive towards victory in December 2024. The journey ahead is challenging, but with our collective effort and these new resources, we are poised to make a profound impact,” he said.
