The Executive Secretary to the Minister of Labour, Employment and Labour Relations, Kotia Nurideen Abubakar Bitis, has issued a strong caution to individuals engaged in acts of indiscipline in the Upper West Region, stressing that government will not hesitate to enforce the law to restore order.

In a statement shared on social media on February 13, Mr. Abubakar Bitis expressed concern over what he described as the conduct of “certain miscreants,” warning that immediate, decisive and far-reaching actions would be taken if the situation does not change.

“If the conduct of certain miscreants, particularly in the Upper West, does not change immediately, decisive and far-reaching actions will be taken,” he stated.

He emphasised that law enforcement actions should not be misconstrued as political persecution, noting that applying the law without fear or favour must not be labelled a witch-hunt.

“When the law is enforced without fear or favour, no one should attempt to mislabel the consequences as a witch-hunt,” he added.

Mr. Abubakar Bitis assured that authorities remain committed to restoring order, enforcing discipline, and ensuring accountability, which he described as “non-negotiable.”

The remarks come amid growing public discussions about security, discipline, and adherence to the rule of law in parts of the Upper West Region, with calls for stronger enforcement measures to maintain peace and stability.

He reiterated that safeguarding law and order is essential to community development and national progress, urging residents to cooperate with authorities and uphold lawful conduct.
