Election 2024: I’ll reduce cost of data – Mahama pledges

The flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Mahama, has pledged to reduce cost of data in the country if he wins the 2024 general election.

Addressing the Ghanaian youth at the lunch of the NDC Youth Manifesto, at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) Auditorium he noted that one the challenges faced by the Ghanaian youth is internet data hence the need for reduction of cost.

Mr. mahama outlined the feasibility options of this promise stating he will engage telecom companies to fall on fiber and satellite internet technologies.

“We will work with the telecom companies to reduce data cost and deploy free Wi-Fi in all our schools and selected public places”.

He also promise to launch the ‘No Fees Stress’ initiative, which will provide full support to eligible tertiary students through the Students Loan Trust Fund.
