The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has blamed the widespread power outages on Thursday, June 26, on a heavy rainstorm that battered parts of the Greater Accra Region.
In a statement issued that same day, the company explained that strong winds and heavy rainfall disrupted operations across its network. “The heavy rainstorm that hit parts of the Greater Accra Region today has caused outages within our network,” ECG noted.
Engineers Working to Restore Power
The company assured customers that engineers are working round the clock to restore power in affected areas.
“Our engineers are working assiduously to repair the faults and restore power supply,” ECG added.
