EC Chairperson Jean Mensa to host first IPAC meeting today

The newly appointed Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa is set to hold her first IPAC meeting today.

The Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) will discuss issues relating to the electoral calendar.

Expected to top the agenda will be the 2018 Limited Voter Registration exercise and the referendum on the creation of new regions.

Jean Mensa, who was the former boss of political think tank Institute of Economic Affairs was sworn in by President Akufo-Addo last month.

However, since her nomination and approval as the EC Chairperson, the largest opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) have vehemently opposed her accusing her of being bias towards the ruling government.

Reports indicate that Jean Mensa is currently out of the country and she might not be present at the meeting.
