The Volta Regional Minister, Jame Gunu, has today joined residents of Ketu North District at the Pentecost Church in Dzodze for a town hall meeting to mark the commencement of the dualization of the Dzodze stretch of the Big Push Road Project.
In a Facebook post, the Minister said, “The engagement provided an opportunity to interact directly with the people, explain how the road construction will be carried out, and address concerns relating to properties that may be affected, including communication and compensation processes.”
According to Mr. Gunu, “The Acting Volta Regional Highway Director of the Ghana Highways Authority, Madam Faustina Oppong-Yeboah, assured residents that the Valuation Division will assess affected properties to determine compensation. She further stated that compensation will be paid before any affected structures are removed, as has been done successfully in other parts of the country.”
The Minister has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to following the due processes to ensure that all affected persons are fairly treated, while ensuring that the project moves forward, adding that “in line with the President’s directive, no project will be started without completion, with strict monitoring and supervision throughout implementation.”
He therefore inaugurated a twelve-member committee proposed by the Member of Parliament for Ketu North, Edem Agbana, to support communication and coordination.
