The Chief Executive Officer of the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), Julius Neequaye Kotey, has strongly denied allegations circulating on social media claiming he has allocated employment opportunities at the Authority to loyalists of the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
In a public statement shared on his official Facebook page, Mr. Kotey described the claims as false and misleading, indicating that his attention had been drawn to a viral video making the allegations.
“I wish to state categorically that I have not given any employment slots to any NPP group or individual,” he stated.
According to him, a thorough internal review has already been conducted to trace the origins of the claims. He alleged that individuals behind the video have been identified, together with what he described as “specific financial inducements” connected to an attempt to tarnish his reputation.
Mr. Kotey characterised the development as a deliberate attempt at “character assassination,” stressing that his integrity remains intact despite the accusations.
“To those plotting further: my integrity remains intact, and truth will always prevail,” he added.
He further expressed confidence that the truth would emerge, stating that he trusts in God to expose persons seeking to undermine him through falsehoods.
The DVLA has not announced any additional measures regarding the matter, but the statement appears aimed at assuring the public of fairness and transparency in the Authority’s recruitment processes.
The allegations, widely shared across social media platforms in recent days, have sparked political debate, although no formal petition or investigation by an external body has been announced as of now.
