Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams has called on President John Dramani Mahama to prioritize a national “reset agenda” that will drive Ghana toward renewal and prosperity.
Speaking at the National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving in Accra on July 1, the Presiding Archbishop of Action Chapel International urged the President to lead a transformational shift that makes Ghana a land of opportunity, where citizens no longer feel forced to seek better lives abroad.
“We must build a country where people only travel for leisure, not survival,” he said. He encouraged Ghanaians to believe in the future of their homeland, pursue education locally, and find success without leaving Ghana.
Addressing the President directly, the Archbishop urged him to “do his utmost” during his term to create lasting change. He expressed strong faith that real progress is possible within four years, citing the life of Jesus Christ as an example of transformational leadership within a short time.
Reflecting on Ghana’s past, Duncan-Williams recalled a time when the country was seen as more advanced than nations like Singapore, China, and Malaysia. He lamented that those countries have since overtaken Ghana in development.
His message was both a call to action and a spiritual charge, urging unity, decisive leadership, and a clear national vision to unlock Ghana’s true potential.
