Ghanaian businessman, Ibrahim Mahama, has acquired a new Bombardier Inc. Global 6500 private jet valued at over US$70 million.
Sources close to the businessman indicate that the aircraft has been customised in a grey and white paint scheme featuring his signature Dzata design, a branding associated with his business ventures.
The Bombardier Global 6500 is a long-range business jet equipped with advanced avionics, enhanced fuel efficiency and improved performance capabilities. The aircraft is designed to travel non-stop on intercontinental routes and offers a spacious cabin with modern amenities tailored for executive comfort and productivity.
Aviation analysts note that the Global 6500 is recognised for its smooth ride technology and high-speed performance, making it a preferred choice among global business leaders and high-net-worth individuals.
Dr. Mahama, founder of Engineers and Planners, is one of Ghana’s leading industrialists with substantial investments in mining, construction, logistics and aviation. Over the years, he has expanded his business footprint across several African countries, contributing significantly to employment and infrastructure development.
Industry observers say the acquisition underscores the increasing participation of African entrepreneurs in global business aviation, reflecting confidence in private sector growth and cross-border commercial engagements.
