Don’t sell your destiny for a phone – Dr. Mensah Otabil to Ghanaians

The General Overseer of the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC), Dr. Mensa Otabil, has called on Ghanaians not to sell their destiny for mobile phones.

Addressing his congregation, he said, “Because you need a phone, your destiny is better and greater than an iPhone 50. Because one day, not only will you hold, you are going to be a manufacturer of those phones; you will have more phones than you can use.”

This comment is widely seen as a response to the campaign promises of the Presidential candidate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia. The Vice President has promised to introduce a credit score system that would help Ghanaians purchase products such as mobile phones on flexible terms.

According to Dr. Mensa Otabil, Ghanaian youth are capable of being manufacturers of mobile phones, hence the need to elect a candidate who would focus on development.

He said, “Don’t sell your destiny for a phone. You are bigger than that, you are better than that, you are greater than that.”
