Some people are afraid of failure and they refuse to pursue their dreams. Some failed once or twice and they give up on their dream. However, if you are afraid of failure or you have failed before, because of that you give up, you will or you failed yourself.
A visionary cannot give up on the vision, but other people can give up on it. Your vision is your life; other people can choose to leave with it or leave it, but you must not give up on it, despite the challenges you safe. You are the success and failure of your dreams; when your dream fails, you fail yourself, when it succeeds, you are a success. So, your success and fulfillment come from your determination to make your dream work; even if you failed many times before.
Fast forward, Abraham Lincoln became the 16th President of the United States of America, because he never gave up, even though he failed many times. According to some records, Abraham Lincoln failed about thirty-five times on the road to becoming the President of the United States. Steve Jobs became Steve Jobs because he believed in his dream; in fact, his partners forced him out of Apple in 1985 as the company CEO after a long power struggle, but he did not give up. He kept pursuing his dream until he was restored. I am sure you know about the soft drink: “7UP”. The inventor: Charles Leiper Grigg named the drink “7UP” because he failed seven times before he finally succeeded with the formula in 1929. People gave up on all these people and their dreams, but because they did not give up, we are talking about their successes today.
The example of Jesus Christ; knowing the task before him, Bible says “He endured to the end”. Even his disciples gave up on him after he was arrested by his persecutors. His disciplines ran away; left him to his fate, and Peter said three times he never knew him. Sometimes, the people you look up to will fail you. I have numerous examples of this to give, but I never give up. Never give up on yourself or your vision, because some people give up on you. Note: one thing is true; in times of difficulties even family and friends can give up on you, but “God will never fail you”. In challenging times when pursuing your dreams, rely more on God and believe in your abilities. Always remember, a human being can easily give up on you, so never get surprised when they do; put all your trust in God; believe you can make it, and keep pushing.
For me, I had my down moments many times, but I am not giving up. I still have hurdles to overcome, challenges am dealing with, and above all, I have victories to be won, and they will be won. I believe the same God who kept me through the valleys of shadows of death; the challenge in the past, He will still carry me on his wings to overcome and subdue all hurdles and challenges before me. One other thing I learned from St. Paul the Apostle is that: “if you are standing, pray that you don’t fall”… And that if you fall many times raise, press on towards your goal, never give up on your dream; for if you give up, you fail yourself and people who look up to you.
One of the greatest lessons I have learned in life is that to perfect your arts or achieve your life dreams, you must purpose it in my heart that “despite the challenges or failures I face, I must achieve my dream”. In my case sometimes, it had been a very long journey, but to the glory of God, I have seen changes; things are getting better. Honestly, I don’t speak like “a perfect person nor a holier than thou”. I still have challenges am dealing with, but I know the faithful God I trust will not fail me. Thus, if God will not fail me, I say to myself “My dreams will not be a failure, I shall see them manifest”.
At the, in your determination to achieve your dreams and aspirations, you will meet people who will discourage you. Even some people who know next to nothing about your dream may say things in one way or the other to discourage you. Even some people with expert knowledge like Michael Jordan’s High School trainer can discourage you, but remember they are not God. Thus, if you are convinced that the dream you are pursuing or the cause you are charting is for you, keep pushing, you will achieve your dream; if you don’t give up. Never give up greatness awaits you, you will not be a failure, keep hope alive.
