The Ghana Education Service GES has sent a directive to all heads of basic schools not to repeat any student from last year JHS 2 from going to JHS 3.

A letter from GES headquarters dated January 17, 2023, explained that the current JHS 3 students are the last batch of the Objective-Based Curriculum who will write the BECE this year. The current JHS 2 students are the first batch who will write BECE in 2024 using the Standard-Based Curriculum.
The letter therefore call on Regional Directors of Education to bring the above directives to the Metro/Municipal/District Directors of Education for strict compliance by all heads.
Meanwhile, the basic schools are in their second week after reopening for the commencement of the first term of the 2023 academic year.
