Minister for Defence, Dr. Edward Omane Boamah, will today, Monday, July 21, 2025, deliver a national address as part of the Government Accountability Series, focusing on the country’s current security outlook.
The address will provide a comprehensive mid-year review of the Ministry of Defence’s operations, outlining strides made in ensuring national security and stability.
Dr. Omane Boamah is expected to shed light on internal and external security issues, as well as efforts to bolster the Ghana Armed Forces.
A major highlight of the address will be the ongoing conflict in Bawku. The Minister will present government-led interventions and military operations aimed at restoring peace to the conflict-prone area.
He will also provide updates on the welfare and operational readiness of military personnel, including promotions, deployments, and support systems for armed forces members.
