“De-Eye Group” website pulled down

A pro-NPP alleged militia group, De-Eye Group has pulled down its website de-eyegroup.com following JoyNews’ Manasseh Azure Awuni’s documentary exposing the activities of the group at the Office of President Annex, Osu Castle.

The group which has reacted to the documentary saying the investigative journalist has given them nothing but a  cheap publicity insisting that they not a militia group but a job recruitment agency.

Government in its statement signed by Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah has rubbished JoyNews’ claim saying the documentary lacks facts.

According to the government, there is no such militia group being trained by the NPP at the Presidency Annex.

In a statement, government said, though Joy News is noted for accuracy, “this so-called ‘undercover’ documentary falls short of their own standards.”

”It only puts together conjuncture, malice, mischief, sensationalism and unvalidated suspicions, and presented to the Ghanaian people as truth,” parts of the statement reads.

Government explained that the activities of De-Eye Group suggest it is a company that finds jobs for its members as confirmed by the 20-minutes report.

“From Joy News’ own documentary, it is clear that the company is involved in helping unemployed young men and women find jobs, and operates a website that openly states their objectives,” Kojo Oppong stated.
