Award-winning Nigerian music sensation David Adeleke, widely known as Davido, has revealed a significant shift in his personal values, pledging to embrace monogamy and avoid infidelity moving forward.
Speaking on the Breakfast Club podcast, the singer opened up about how past experiences and lessons from family life have influenced his decision to lead a more disciplined romantic life.
“My uncle that’s a governor has two wives. Another of my uncles, all his wives lived with him and they played with each other. But upon all the money, there’s still wahala,” Davido said. “I’d rather go and live with how my other guys are living. Maybe because I’ve had bad experiences. Sometimes experience is the best teacher.”
The Fall hitmaker emphasized that his past challenges have made him rethink his approach to relationships.
“I’m not cheating again. I don’t want wahala. I don’t want any wahala. I have five kids with four women,” he admitted, noting that his new perspective stems from a desire for peace and stability.
Davido’s candid remarks offer a rare glimpse into the private life of one of Africa’s biggest music exports and mark what he hopes will be the beginning of a more focused and drama-free chapter.
