Joseph Badu Boateng, widely known as “Dada Joe Remix,” has been extradited from Ghana to the United States to face charges related to a sophisticated romance and inheritance fraud scheme.

The U.S. Embassy in Ghana confirmed the extradition in a social media statement on July 1, noting the successful collaboration between Ghanaian law enforcement and U.S. agencies. The operation was led by special agents from the U.S. Diplomatic Security Service in coordination with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and Ghanaian authorities.

Boateng is accused of masterminding a criminal network that targeted American victims, swindling them out of millions of dollars through emotionally manipulative online scams.

Now in U.S. custody, Boateng will stand trial for his alleged role in orchestrating the transnational fraud. His extradition forms part of a broader international crackdown on organized financial crime.

Authorities say the case highlights the growing threat of cyber-enabled scams and the importance of global cooperation in protecting citizens from fraud.
