A cyber security expert, Divine Selase Agbeti, has called on Ghanaians to exercise responsible conduct in their daily activities, particularly in the digital space, warning that surveillance systems are increasingly widespread.

In a social media post, Mr. Agbeti emphasised that modern technology has made monitoring easier, stressing that individuals must be mindful of their actions both online and offline.

“Let us live our lives responsibly. Cameras are everywhere,” he stated, underscoring growing concerns about privacy and digital footprints.

Mr. Agbeti further highlighted the role of the Cyber Security Authority Ghana (CSA), noting that the institution remains committed to safeguarding the dignity and privacy of citizens in the cyberspace. However, he stressed that personal responsibility remains a key factor in ensuring online safety.

“The Cyber Security Authority Ghana will work hard to ensure the preservation of your dignity, but that preservation begins with yourself,” he added.

He also encouraged the public to report cyber-related incidents promptly through the national cybercrime reporting line, 292, which serves as a channel for addressing digital fraud, cyber harassment, identity theft and other online threats.

The Cyber Security Authority, established under Ghana’s Cybersecurity Act, is mandated to regulate, coordinate and promote cybersecurity development in the country. The Authority also leads national efforts aimed at protecting critical information infrastructure and enhancing public awareness about cyber threats.

Mr. Agbeti’s message comes at a time when Ghana continues to intensify public education on cyber safety, as digital platforms become increasingly central to business, communication and governance.
