The Cyber Security Authority (CSA), in collaboration with National Security, has dealt another major blow to cybercrime in Ghana with the arrest of 32 Nigerian nationals allegedly involved in an organized romance scam syndicate operating in Kasoa Tuba.

The operation, carried out at dawn, led to the bust of a cybercrime hub where suspects were reportedly engaged in online romance fraud targeting unsuspecting victims.

The development was made public by Hon. Sam Dzata George, who commended the Cyber Security Authority for what he described as a decisive and well-coordinated operation against cybercriminal activities in the country.

According to him, the joint action underscores the growing commitment of Ghana’s security institutions to clamp down on cybercrime and protect the country’s digital space from abuse.

Mr. Dzata George assured that support will continue to be extended to the Cyber Security Authority and its partner agencies to enable them intensify efforts aimed at making Ghana an unattractive destination for cybercriminals.

He emphasized that sustained collaboration, intelligence-led operations, and strong enforcement will remain key in the fight against cybercrime.

The arrest forms part of broader national efforts to curb internet fraud, safeguard Ghana’s international reputation, and enhance digital security for citizens and residents.

Investigations into the case are ongoing, while the suspects are expected to be processed in accordance with the law.
