The Computerized School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS) platform has temporarily gone down due to a massive surge in students and parents seeking to check their 2025 school placements.

According to reports gathered Tuesday evening, thousands of Junior High School graduates simultaneously accessed the system after the Ministry of Education officially released the Senior High School placement results. This sudden surge in online traffic caused the portal to slow down and eventually crash, leaving many anxious students frustrated.

Several users have taken to social media to complain about error messages, prolonged loading times, and failed login attempts. Others who managed to gain access to the website reported difficulties completing the process.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) and the CSSPS Secretariat are yet to issue an official statement on the downtime. However, ICT experts note that high traffic volumes are common whenever placements are released, especially during the first 24 hours.

Despite the technical hiccups, students are advised to remain patient and try again at off-peak hours. Placement details can be accessed through the CSSPS website www.cssps.gov.gh
as well as via USSD codes provided by the Ministry.

The 2025 placements mark a crucial step for candidates who sat for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), as it determines which Senior High Schools and Technical/Vocational institutions they will attend in the coming academic year.

Meanwhile, parents and guardians are calling for more robust digital infrastructure to handle the annual pressure, emphasizing that the stress of securing a school placement is already high without the added frustration of technical failures.
