Cristiano Ronaldo has sparked fresh speculation about his future with Al-Nassr after a cryptic post on social media.
On X (formerly Twitter), he wrote: “This chapter is over. The story? Still being written. Grateful to all.”
The post came after Al-Nassr’s 3-2 defeat to Al-Fateh. The team had a 2-1 lead with just 10 minutes to go.
Al-Nassr finished third in the Saudi Pro League, behind Al-Ittihad and Al-Hilal. They ended the season without a trophy.
Ronaldo, 40, was the league’s top scorer with 24 goals. But the lack of silverware may have triggered thoughts of moving on. He joined the Saudi club in 2023 after returning to Manchester United in the 2021–22 season.
Club World Cup Twist
Just two days before the post, FIFA President Gianni Infantino made headlines. He hinted Ronaldo could still feature in the Club World Cup.
Speaking during an interview with streamer IShowSpeed, Infantino said: “Ronaldo might play for one of the teams at the Club World Cup. There are discussions. “If any club is watching and is interested in hiring Ronaldo… who knows?” he added.
Al-Nassr didn’t qualify for the newly expanded 32-team tournament. Only Al-Hilal will represent Saudi Arabia in the U.S.-hosted competition.
Ronaldo’s next chapter is still unfolding. But one thing is clear he’s not done yet.
