A Clean Ghana: Tersus Ghana calls on gov’t to properly coordinate sanitation

Accra generates an estimated 3000 tonnes of solid wastes out of which 80% collected are not paid for by residents.

According to the think tank, sanitation affects education, other sectors of the economy and requires evidence based research to curb the long [ads1]existing canker.

Speaking at inauguration of Tersus Ghana, Interim Chairman and Director of University of Ghana Institute of Environment and Sanitation Studies, Prof. Christopher Gordon cited communal apathy and over-reliance on foreign aid as a challenge.

Contributing to the discussion, Sanitation and Water Resources Minister, Mr. Joseph Kofi Adda revealed government’s plans to set up sanitation authority to ensure sustainable clean city.

According to the Navrongo Central Legislator, the Ministry will organize sanitation forum to assemble sector players to map up strategy to improve the sector.
