Ghanaian singer Cina Soul has expressed deep concern and called on authorities to take action after actor Big Akwes made disturbing and violent remarks about her on live television.
In a video clip from Bryt TV shared on social media, Big Akwes played a “Kiss-Marry-Kill” game. When asked to choose between actress Vivian Jill and Cina Soul, he said he would marry Vivian Jill but then shockingly described how he would “kill” Cina Soul. He detailed a fictional scenario involving a magic mirror, stabbing her repeatedly, and drinking her blood.
Cina Soul, whose real name is Christie Quincyna Quarcoopome, reacted swiftly. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), she tagged the Ghana Police Service and the Ministry of Communications, calling for immediate action.
“I’m deeply unsettled by this… I feel genuinely threatened,” she wrote. “We must not normalize this kind of dangerous rhetoric being broadcast on our TV and radio platforms.”
.@GhPoliceService I’m deeply unsettled by this. I initially chose not to respond to earlier comments because I do not wish to be associated with this individual, but at this point, I feel genuinely threatened.@samgeorgegh @mocghana I may not know the proper channels to report… pic.twitter.com/W3c49OUFls

The video sparked outrage online, with many condemning both Big Akwes and Bryt TV for airing the content. The singer also highlighted how public figures should be held accountable for promoting violence or hate speech.
Background of Tensions
This isn’t the first time Big Akwes has targeted Cina Soul. In April 2025, he body-shamed the artist during a discussion on Max TV, criticizing her outfit and questioning her brand image. Cina Soul, who had been promoting her Did I Lie album, responded by defending her choice of expression and lamenting the lack of focus on her music.
“I spent so much of my own money to make and promote this album… but let Cina Soul wear a crop top, and suddenly it’s a problem,” she wrote.
Following the backlash, Max TV deleted the clip and issued an apology.
