The Central Tongu Constituency Women’s Wing has successfully organized a women’s workshop aimed at strengthening the role of women in governance, leadership, and national development.

The workshop, held on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, was themed “Women Leading Change: The Role of Women in the Resetting Agenda.” It brought together Branch Women Organizers from across the constituency to deliberate on critical issues affecting women and to explore practical opportunities for empowering women within the broader resetting agenda.

The programme featured a distinguished panel of speakers, including Hon. Addison Mornyuie, District Chief Executive for Central Tongu; Hon. Abigail Elorm Akwambea, Deputy National Women’s Organizer and Chief Executive Officer of MASLOC; Madam Ann Awo Galley, Deputy Volta Regional Women’s Organizer; and Madam Cynthia Afeafa, Deputy Volta Regional Women’s Organizer. The event was also attended by several constituency executives, led by Mr. Macarthy Ametefe, Acting Constituency Chairman.

Discussions during the workshop focused on women’s leadership, economic empowerment, political participation, and capacity building, with participants actively engaging in dialogue on how women can effectively contribute to national development and grassroots mobilization.

The Women’s Wing expressed profound gratitude to Hon. Gabby Alexander Hottordze, Member of Parliament for Central Tongu, for his unwavering support and commitment to women’s empowerment, which contributed significantly to the success of the programme. Appreciation was also extended to Hon. Addison Mornyuie, DCE for Central Tongu District, for his support, as well as Hon. Abigail Elorm Akwambea, the special guest of honour.

Further commendation was given to Hon. Delphia Fafa Agbai, Volta Regional Women’s Organizer and Regional School Feeding Coordinator, and all other stakeholders whose collective efforts ensured the smooth organization of the workshop.
