Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng, popularly known as A Plus, has claimed that prices of vehicles and fuel in Ghana have dropped significantly, in a Facebook post that has stirred political discussion online.
In the post, the lawmaker stated that a Honda CR-V, which until recently sold for about GH¢750,000, is now going for approximately GH¢450,000. He also noted that fuel prices have declined to around GH¢9.99 per litre.
Reacting to the developments, A Plus sarcastically attributed the changes to John Dramani Mahama, despite the president having spent the last eight years in opposition.
“The things John Mahama is doing after just eight years in opposition eh,” the MP wrote, describing the situation as “miracles.”
He further took a swipe at the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), suggesting that if the party were to remain in opposition for at least 20 years, it would return to power performing better than any government in the world.
The post, which was clearly laced with satire, has since generated varied reactions on social media, with users debating both the reported reductions in prices and the political message behind the comments.
