Can Real Madrid pull off another Bernabeu miracle against Arsenal?

Real Madrid are staring down one of their toughest challenges in recent Champions League history.

After a shocking 3-0 defeat to Arsenal in the first leg of their quarter-final clash, the Spanish giants must now produce something truly special at the Santiago Bernabeu if they are to keep their European dreams alive.

Fortunately for Madrid, there are no fresh injury concerns following the trip to London. However, they remain without left-back Ferland Mendy, whose absence was sorely felt as David Alaba struggled to contain the threat of Bukayo Saka.

The decision to start Alaba over the in-form Fran Garcia backfired, leaving Madrid’s defence exposed and ultimately punished.

Now, Carlo Ancelotti’s side must make history. Only four teams have ever overturned a three-goal deficit in Champions League knockout history and Real Madrid will aim to be the fifth.

The odds are steep, but if there’s one stadium known for magical comebacks, it’s the Bernabeu.

Jude Bellingham captured the mood best after the first leg: “We’re going to need something unbelievably special, something crazy really, but if there’s one place where crazy things can happen, it’s our house.”

With pride, passion, and the power of the Bernabeu behind them, Madrid will hope to write yet another unforgettable chapter in their European story.
