The Minister for Inner-Cities and Zongo Development, Dr. Mustapha Hamid has responded to critics who view his new role as a demotion.

He said such views are insulting, to say the least, to people living in the inner-cities and zongos.

Hamid, who was the former Minister of Information was moved to Inner-Cities in President Akufo-Addo first-ever ministerial reshuffle.

“I feel that those people insult Inner City and Zongo People and I feel very offended as an inner city person, that when I have had the highest calling of my life to serve my people; inner cities and Zongo people, you would think it is a demotion”, he said.

“I am excited about my position. That is all. I don’t know about others but I have told you that I am very excited to serve my people,” he added.

His deputy at the Ministry of Information, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah takes over from him as the substantive Minister.
