NOMINATION OF INDIVIDUALS FOR RECOGNITION AND AWARDS
The Agbonutoza Planning Committee, in consultation with the Leklebi Traditional Council, intends to award deserving Leklebi citizens for their contributions to the socio-economic development of Leklebi during the forthcoming Festival.
CATEGORIES OF AWARDS
The categories of awards are as follows:
- DISTINGUISHED CITIZEN
- LOYAL AND DEDICATED YOUTH OF LEKLEBI
- POST HUMOUS AWARD
CRITERIA
CRITERIA FOR CATEGORY 1 (DISTINGUISHED LEKLEBI CITIZEN)
The following are the criteria for nominating candidates for “DISTINGUISHED LEKLEBI CITIZENS” The nominee must be a Leklebi Citizen who meets the following criteria:
- Must be 45 years old and above
- Must have a residence in Leklebi
- Must have been nominated by a citizen from his/her own community who is 25 years old or above or by a recognized group in Leklebi
- Must be a citizen who is known and recognized as a person who loves Leklebi.
- Must have contributed significantly to the socio-economic development of his or her own town or Community
- Must have contributed significantly to the socio-economic development of Leklebi either directly or through any institution or organization.
- Must be seen and recognized as humble, respectful and respected by the Community at large and be able to freely mix with all classes of people.
- The nominee must not have been previously recognized and awarded by the Chiefs and people of Leklebi in this category.
CRITERIA FOR CATEGORY 2 LOYAL AND DEDICATED YOUTH OF LEKLEBI to be awarded to a citizen of Leklebi who meets the following criteria:
- Must be below the age of 45.
- Must be dedicated to the course and aspirations of Leklebi.
- Must be seen to have dedicated his or her time and resources to the service of Leklebi. Ever willing to put his or her services at the disposal of Leklebi.
- Must be seen to be humble, intelligent, respectful and respected by his or her peers and Elders.
- Must be able to mix with all classes of people.
CRITERIA FOR CATEGORY 3
POST HUMOUS AWARDS may be awarded to departed Leklebi citizens in the first two (2) categories who meet the criteria for awards but were not honoured in their life time. Nominations are welcome for this also
NOMINATION PROCEDURE
- A maximum of two persons to be nominated in each category, from each Leklebi town, in a community forum to be forwarded to the Awards Committee via the contacts provided below.
- Each nomination should be accompanied by a citation justifying the nomination.
- The Awards Committee will meet to select at least six (6) deserving candidates for the awards. At least one nomination from each of the Leklebi Towns will be selected)
- The Awards Committee will meet with the Leklebi Traditional Council after the selection of awardees to explain how the selections were made.
THE AWARDS
The awards will be in the form of a citation, properly framed, and a sash with the appropriate inscription for each category as follows:
- a) DISTINGUISHED LEKLEBI CITIZEN
- b) LOYAL AND DEDICATED LEKLEBI YOUTH CORRESPONDENCE
