Ebenezer Annobil has emerged as the President-elect in the just ended University of Education, Winneba Student Representative Council (SRC) presidential race, which took place across the university’s poling stations on Thursday August 28, 2025.

The 2025 SRC election saw the various enviable positions being contested by qualified students from the various faculties and departments within the Winneba campuses (South, Central and North).

The SRC presidential slot was contested by five vibrant aspirants, including the president-elect, His Excellency, Ebenezer Annobil, who garnered 8499 votes representing 66.28% of the total votes cast. Other presidential candidates were Bright Kwesi Wuaku, who pulled 1190 votes representing 9.28%, Ruth Akpene Nukpese, who pulled 470 votes representing 3.67%, Perpetual Sroda Mensah Wadjoly, who pulled 2280 votes representing 17.8%, and George Semabia also pulled 348 votes representing 2.99%.

The student body gave President Annobil the overwhelming victory believing in his campaign tagline “the 31st convo is a rebirth of hope” with slogans such as  “we dey for you”,  with a policy entitled “the 31st policies”, which included advocate for a soft policy that seeks to champion a fairer 30-10-30-30 payment model backed by an SRC Deactivation Protection Framework to ensure that students can register their first semester courses with just 30% of their fees paid, settle an additional 10% before end of the semester, pay 30% at the start of the second semester registration, and complete the final 30% before second semester exams. The 31st policies also talked about the introduction of the SRC free data SIM, the introduction of the LED giant screen, launch “the SRC dwaso” initiative, which will be organized occasionally to give student entrepreneurs and marketers a platform to showcase their goods and services, among others.

President elect, Annobil and his “Annobil Foundation” had been helpful to some students and groups on campus ahead of the election, which might also be a major factor for his massive support and victory.

Other positions contested during the electoral processes included SRC General Secretary, SRC Financial Secretary, SRC Treasurer, SRC Sports and Games Secretary, SRC Sports and Games Treasurer, Local NUGS President, Local NUGS Treasurer, Local NUGS Secretary, and Local NUGS WOCOM. Prior to this election, the various halls on campus and the various departments have also elected their leaders for the coming year.

The 2025/2026 31st Student Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Education, Winneba campus will be led by the various Departmental Executives, various Hall Executives, and the following SRC Board Members:

  1. SRC President – His Excellency, Ebenezer Annobil
  2. SRC Vice President – His Excellency, Rapheal Ackaah Donkor
  3. SRC General Secretary – Asantewaa Akoto Regina
  4. SRC Financial Secretary – Augustine Nyamekye
  5. SRC Treasure – Comfort Abena Acquaye
  6. SRC Sports and Games Secretary – Kingsley Wisdom Baffoe
  7. SRC Sports and Games Treasure – Ali Abubakar
  8. Local NUGS President – Bismark Owusu Acheampong
  9. Local NUGS Treasure – Emmanuella Serwaah Amoah
  10. Local NUGS Secretary – Emmanuella Addo
  11. Local NUGS WOCOM – Juliet Clarke

The Annobil led administration will end in 2026 with the hope of serving the student populace with integrity, equity, diligence and accountability.
