Pius Enam Hadzide, spokesperson for Bryan Acheampong’s 2028 presidential campaign, has called on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to take a thoughtful and strategic approach in selecting its next flagbearer.

Speaking on Eyewitness News with Umaru Sanda Amadu on Friday, July 4, Hadzide warned that rushing the selection process could hurt the party’s chances and invite renewed criticism over its 2024 electoral loss.

He strongly endorsed Bryan Acheampong, the Abetifi MP and former Food and Agriculture Minister, as the best candidate to lead the NPP back to power in 2028.

“There’s a lot of enthusiasm because people want the NPP to do the right thing by choosing the most winnable candidate,” Hadzide said. “We believe that person is Hon. Dr. Bryan Acheampong.”

Hadzide attributed the party’s 2024 defeat to strategic missteps and stressed the need for serious introspection. He outlined three critical pillars for a successful comeback: rebuilding party structures, crafting a resonant message, and choosing a credible candidate to deliver it.

“To win, you need the party machinery, a compelling message, and a credible messenger,” he emphasized. “The message and the messenger must reinforce each other.”

He further acknowledged the 2024 defeat, stating plainly:

“The NPP lost, and the presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, lost. We must learn from that.”

The remarks signal growing momentum behind Bryan Acheampong’s candidacy as the NPP begins laying the groundwork for 2028.
