Black Stars winger Christopher Bonsu Baah says he’s fully confident Ghana will qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, calling the opportunity a major milestone for the nation.
Ghana currently sits at the top of Group I with 15 points after securing back-to-back wins over Chad and Madagascar in March. The results marked a strong recovery following a slow start to the qualifiers, with four matches still left to play.
Baah, who made his senior debut at the four-nation tournament in London, expressed optimism during an interview with Joy Sports.
“It will mean a lot—not just to me, but to my family and the entire nation. Seeing Ghana qualify for the World Cup is a huge achievement,” he said.
“We are 100% confident we’ll qualify. It’s every player’s dream to be part of a World Cup team.”
However, the KRC Genk attacker emphasized the need for balance between ambition and discipline.
“When you focus too much on those things, you may not perform. You just have to trust the process—step by step,” Baah added.
“Now I return to my club, give my all there, and we’ll see what happens.”
The Black Stars will resume their qualifying campaign in September, facing Chad and Mali on Matchdays 7 and 8. They’ll wrap up the group stage with crucial fixtures against Comoros and the Central African Republic.
