BON Agro, in collaboration with Delmark Agro, is set to organise a series of farmer engagement programmes and a farmers’ symposium in the Akatsi South Municipality aimed at equipping farmers with modern agricultural knowledge and strengthening collaboration within the farming community.
The initiative, themed “Empowering Farmers Through Knowledge and Collaboration,” forms part of efforts to improve agricultural productivity and support farmers across various communities in the municipality.
The programme is being championed by the Chief Executive Officer of Delmark Agro, Hon. Edem Ackuaku, a former Municipal Best Farmer Award winner who currently serves as the Branch Chairman and Ward Coordinator of the NDC in Shell Tobacco. Hon. Ackuaku is widely recognised as the brain behind the entire project, driven by his commitment to ensuring that farmers receive the education, training and support needed to enhance their farming activities.
The engagements will begin on March 12, 2026, with community interactions with farmers at Adzikame from 9:00 am to 11:00 am and Kpodzivi from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.
Key personalities expected to participate include the Municipal Chief Executive for Akatsi South, Hon. Daniel Dagba, the Presiding Member of the Akatsi South Municipal Assembly, Hon. Raphael Kofi Ahiable, and the Assembly Member for Kpodzivi Electoral Area, Hon. Kennedy Biedo.
As part of the programme, a Farmers’ Symposium will also be held on March 13, 2026, at the Akatsi South Municipal Assembly Hall, bringing together farmers, agricultural experts, local authorities and stakeholders to discuss practical ways of improving farming practices and strengthening collaboration within the agricultural sector.
Organisers believe the initiative will serve as an important platform for knowledge sharing, capacity building and support for farmers, while contributing to the broader agenda of agricultural development in the Akatsi South Municipality.
Edem Ackuaku Leads Initiative to Empower Farmers in Akatsi South

The initiative, themed “Empowering Farmers Through Knowledge and Collaboration,” seeks to provide farmers with modern farming techniques, access to agricultural support services, and opportunities to build stronger partnerships with agribusiness stakeholders.
The programme is being spearheaded by the Chief Executive Officer of Delmark Agro, Hon. Edem Ackuaku, who is widely recognised as the brain behind the entire initiative. His vision is to ensure that farmers across the municipality receive the necessary education, training and support needed to improve productivity and livelihoods.
Hon. Ackuaku, a former Municipal Best Farmer Award winner, is also known for his active political and community leadership as the Branch Chairman and Ward Coordinator of the NDC in Shell Tobacco. His passion for agriculture and grassroots development has been instrumental in initiating the programme aimed at directly benefiting farmers.
The farmer engagement activities will begin on March 11, 2026, in the Wute Zone, where farmers from Wute and Adeheta Electoral Areas will meet from 7:00 am to 11:00 am, while farmers from Wuxor, Have, Sremanu, Avadzre and Kpevi Klokpe Gornikporpe Electoral Areas will gather at Sremanu from 11:30 am to 3:00 pm.
The engagement will continue on March 12, 2026, with meetings scheduled for farmers in the Adzikame and Kpodzivi areas. The session at Adzikame will take place from 9:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by the Kpodzivi engagement from 11:30 am to 1:30 pm.
The programme will be hosted by the Municipal Chief Executive for Akatsi South, Hon. Daniel Dagba, with participation from several local leaders including the Presiding Member of the Akatsi South Municipal Assembly, Hon. Raphael Kofi Ahiable; Hon. Japhet Festus Gbede, Assemblymember for Wuxor, Have and Sremanu Electoral Area; Hon. Wisdom Akpabli, Assemblymember for Wute Electoral Area; Hon. Prosper Mawuta Agbeli, Assemblymember for Alorka Avadzre Electoral Area; Hon. Obed Pomado of Kpevi, Klokpe, and Hon. Kennedy Biedo, Assemblymember for Kpodzivi Electoral Area.
The initiative will climax with a Farmers’ Symposium on March 13, 2026, at the Akatsi South Municipal Assembly Hall, where farmers, agricultural experts, local authorities and stakeholders will gather to deliberate on practical strategies to improve farming practices and strengthen agricultural development in the municipality.
