Hearts of Oak and Black Stars goalkeeper, Benjamin Asare has been named as the leading Brand Ambassador for Rexona, a Unilever product in Ghana, under an undisclosed contract .
Reports indicate that, the goalkeeper will enjoy monetary and additional benefits from Unilever.
During a short presentation at the University of Ghana Sports Stadium on Sunday, Rexona presented a range of its body deodorants to the player.
According to Kumasi-based Kessben FM, the brand will give the shot-stopper a 40% upfront payment of the agreed sponsorship fee, with the remaining 60% to be paid if he makes the squad for the 2026 World Cup.
Asare has been Ghana’s first-choice goalkeeper throughout the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, helping the Black Stars secure eight wins, one loss, and one draw in ten matches. His consistent performance highlights that local players can earn recognition a for their performance on the field.
Though he was an unused substitute for Hearts of Oak in their disappointing 0-0 stalemate with Bechem United in the Ghana Premier League Match Day 21 encounter on Sunday, the former Accra Great Olympics skipper has made 11 appearances for the Phobians in the ongoing campaign.

He kept 13 clean sheets in 26 games last season for Hearts of Oak and was arguably the best goalkeeper at the end of the 2024/25 season.
The presentation was attended by award-winning Ghanaian musician Okyeame Kwame, Alhaji Yussif Abdullai, Chairman of the National Chapters Committee (NCC) of Accra Hearts of Oak, and officials from Unilever.
