After an impressive performance at the World Minigolf Championsip held in Croatia, the national minigolf team – Black Patters have made a case for themselves at the world stage winning the admiration of all.
The team although could not win a medal at their maiden appearance at the world tournament gave a good accounts for themselves which could be capitalised on in subsequent appearance.
After two days of competitive adventure Masters Minigolf and five rounds over 18 holes, Germany emerged as the new world championships, whilst Finland and Italy took the top spot in individual scores.
At a well-attended award closing ceremony, held at Zaton Resort in Nin, Team Ghana was adjudged best new Minigolf team with official ranking now as 11th in the World.
Solomon Addai was awarded best male Minigolf score within Team Ghana, whilst Hala Fattal got the best score in Ghana women Team.
The world Minigolf Federation also inducted President of Ghana Minigolf and Secretary General of Africa Minigolf Mr. Talal Fattal, into the World Minigolf Council – Media and Marketing events worldwide.
Mr. Emmanuel Osei of Team Ghana was nominated for the position of Africa Minigolf player status committee to be confirmed next week at the annual delegates’ conference taking place in Zaton Resort Nin.
Team Ghana made a lasting impression at the World Cup championships in Croatia with their colourful branded apparel, Ghanaian jamaa Chants and high spirit energy displayed on and off the Minigolf course throughout the Tournament.
Mr. Talal Fattal noted the technical and high level of Minigolf displayed in Croatia and has recognized the challenge and the need to improve upon technical Minigolf of Team Ghana performance in future world international competitions.
Team Ghana will crown their trip by competing as guests of honor at the Croatia Minigolf open and will be returning to Accra after a one week of eye opening competition golf, as the first African country ever to compete in the world Minigolf Championships.
