Dr. Hannah Louisa Bissiw, Administrator of the Minerals Development Fund, says she feels no sympathy for former MP Hawa Koomson following her reported assault during the Ablekuma North election rerun on July 11.
Speaking at the Odorkor Methodist 1 polling station, Dr. Bissiw referenced a 2019 incident where she claims Koomson led thugs to attack her during the Ayawaso West Wuogon by-election.
“I was beaten and chased. What saved me in the police vehicle was my seatbelt,” she recalled.
She condemned electoral violence but made it clear she would not sympathize with Koomson. “I am a victim of Hawa Koomson… Don’t ask me to feel sorry for her because I don’t.”
Bissiw also accused Koomson of involvement in other violent incidents, including clashes at Kasoa. “Ask her about the gun she shot and the people who died,” she said.
She urged political leaders to take responsibility for their supporters’ actions, adding that the NDC was not behind the latest attack. “We didn’t do it,” she asserted.
Despite her stance, Bissiw reaffirmed that all forms of electoral violence must end.
