An NPP big gun who is also a member of the communication team of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), lawyer Appiah Danquah has bitten hard at Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia alleging that, he (Bawumia) is gradually ruining the image of the party following his comment that the Ghana Card can be used as an electronic passport.
Vice President Bawumia has come under serious criticism after the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration, Shirley Ayorkor Botchway contradicted the former’s claim in Parliament on Tuesday.
The minister disclosed that the Ghana Card cannot under any circumstances be used as a sole traveling document now.
Ayorkor Botchway explained that the passport and traveling certificate remain the official documents for traveling outside the country.
Reacting to the issue on the Ghana Kasa show on Kasapa 102.5FM/Agoo TV, lawyer Appiah Danquah Indicated that the Vice President has lost focus on his core mandate as the head of the Economic Management Team of the country and again executing his duties as the vice president of the state.
He stressed that the party is much focused that’s why the Foreign Affairs Minister came to clarify everything with respect to the use of the Ghana Card because things are not done properly the vice president will soil the hard-earned image of the party.
He expressed worry over the sort of briefing the Vice President had which push him to make such a false comment on the use of the Ghana Card as a passport
“I feel the vice president should quickly refocus”, he added.
