Speaker of Ghana’s Parliament, Alban Bagbin, has praised Niger’s launch of its Consultative Council for Rebuilding, describing it as a bold step toward inclusive governance and democratic renewal.

During an official visit to Niamey on Saturday, June 28, Bagbin delivered a solidarity message commending Niger for its commitment to citizen engagement in shaping the country’s future.

He described the council as a “historic and people-centered” initiative, reflecting the nation’s desire for peace, justice, and participatory development.

While addressing members of the newly formed council, Bagbin encouraged them to act with wisdom, fairness, and a deep sense of public duty.

He also invited the Council to observe Ghana’s ongoing constitutional review process, highlighting the importance of shared democratic learning among West African nations.

Bagbin reaffirmed Ghana’s support for Niger’s rebuilding efforts. He emphasized Ghana’s readiness to provide technical assistance, share experiences, and strengthen diplomatic ties.
