Ato Forson trial: NDC’s action seems planned- Lawyer

A private legal practitioner, Nana Adjei Baffour Awuah has revealed that the action of the opposition National Democratic Congress in the ongoing ambulance trial of the Minority Leader Ato Forson paints a picture of a planned thing.

According to reports, Richard Jakpa allegedly tried to cause the A-G to implicate himself by inviting him over to the house of a revered Supreme Court Judge. During the meeting, Richard Jakpa allegedly recorded the Minister for Justice in an attempt to implicate him.

Richard Jakpa is standing trial with Minority Leader Cassiel Ato Forson for causing a €2.3 million financial loss to the state through the procurement of ambulances.

In the wake of the ensuing exchanges, the NDC said it has evidence that confirms that the A-G tried to implicate the Minority Leader through the 3rd accused. It announced that it will make available the evidence this week.

However, Baffour Awuah, argued that the NDC is using propaganda tactics to court public attention. He said the NDC has evidence then they would wait till the Minority Leader is called in court to defend himself. That is when they can use the evidence to back their case.

If you feel you have a very good case, why not wait until your case is called in court,” he said on the Asaase Breakfast Show on May 28.

“For me, in my humble opinion, the haste with which the NDC has run to town with this matter makes it seem like the whole thing was choreographed,” Nana Adjei Baffour Awuah added.
