Held on March 5, 2026, the event took place in Lakpo, following similar successful programs in Agbakope during 2024 and 2025. Hon. Aguadze initiated these annual screenings with the goal of ensuring that residents remain healthy enough to go about their daily work and livelihoods without physical hindrance.
The exercise commenced at 8:40 am with an educational session led by medical professionals. The team provided vital information on three key areas: eye care, dental hygiene, and ear health.
Beneficiaries, including students from Lakpo D.A. Primary and Lakpo J.S.S., received practical advice on maintaining their health through detailed educational sessions. Regarding eye care, residents were cautioned against self-medication and advised to seek professional help at a hospital for any vision problems.
The medical team also demonstrated proper dental hygiene, showing how to brush the front, back, and tongue effectively while recommending the use of soft toothbrushes twice daily alongside regular check-ups. Additionally, health officials provided guidance on ear care, explaining that the ear is self-cleaning and warning against inserting any objects into the ear canal, advising anyone experiencing discomfort to consult a doctor instead.
Following the talks, the medical team began the screening process for hundreds of residents. Those diagnosed with common conditions were provided with free medication on-site. For more complex cases requiring specialized equipment or surgery, Hon. Aguadze ensured that patients were referred to the District Hospital in Sogakope for further management.
Hon. Aguadze successfully lobbied for the medical team from the District Hospital Sogakope to conduct the exercise, with the support of the Medical Superintendent, Dr. Richard Forson.
The health outreach concluded at 4:05 pm, with many residents expressing gratitude to their Assembly Member for bringing quality healthcare directly to their doorstep. Hon. Alexander Aguadze reaffirmed his dedication to the well-being of the Agbakope/Lakpo Electoral Area, stating that his people’s health remains his top priority.
